Southern Belle

Goodbye July and Hello August! The sparkly red bow in my hair was the firecracker to my July. You can find it along with other equally creative designs by Lisa Kathryn here (http://www.lisakathryn.com).

I was so excited to debut this Vintage find of a skirt, I altered the hem (made it shorter and then gave it a higher waist fit) I gathered the extra fabric in back to make a sort of bouffant poof. Sometimes making something old become new again is more fun than dropping a few hundred bones on the latest trend. Deciding to pair the finished look with my " Givenchy " heels (could almost be twins in design) just seemed right.

You are listening to Take My Breathe Away by Hollywood, Mon Amour. I love this song, originally by Berlin, and every other cover or remix out there. It's such a romantic "in love" with someone song.

Delta Bay

I haven't done this in a while, a post about the girl behind Fashion Chalet; me. In a semi-list format I shall reveal some more... I can't wake up without putting my contacts in and warming an oversize mug of mocha coffee, I enjoy sipping it while catching repeats of It's On With Alexa Chung and Keeping Up With the Kardashians; or anything else equally salacious and guilt-inducing. I used to collect stamps as a kid and then started collecting friendship bracelets, now I collect shoes. When I can't fall asleep, I like to dream about winning the lottery and what I would do with it. I also like to daydream about my favorite celebrity or fashion icon letting me inside her closet to pick whatever pleases my senses. I think window shopping is best during the Holidays; as the scent of cinnamon from Starbucks coffee wafts by, familar tunes caress my ears and a comfy scarf is mandatory. Before bed, I brush my teeth, read a good book or flip through a magazine while playing Bejeweled to a Genius mix on my iPod touch.

City It Shines

A rainy Saturday afternoon led me to pad barefoot in the rug towards my archived collection of Fashion magazines. Missing the cool, crisp air that December often brings with it, my fingertips landed on an issue of Elle ― appropriately a December (2008) issue. Once I began flipping through the ostentatious volume, my attention was instantly captured by this very editorial.

Decadent dressing, spiderweb netting, vibrant red lipstick, metal clasp clutches, jewel encrusted cocktail frocks, freshly polished fingernails, shiny, long locks, over-the-top-yet-equally-extraordinary baubles; all leading to an air of mystery; a scene set up to allow a small peek into this "anonymous" woman's extravagant and lavish lifestyle.

Although it might be Monday, why not settle back into that oversize chair, to daydream . . . just a little more?

Blue Blood

Last night I had this odd dream that I was back in High School but the halls were empty and quiet. Before I could get scared, I met Summer Roberts (circa Season One of the OC) aka Rachel Bilson. It was pretty neat. I woke up before I could meet " Seth Cohen " though ... :(

I was interviewed by Cat of Little Plastic Horses yesterday. Thanks, Cat! You can check it out HERE.

The Little Black body con Motel Dress

I don't mind how cheesy the song sounds, I still can't help but to find it irresistible. It's from Music and Lyrics starring Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore. I adore the song in a cheesy-feel-good kinda way. ;)

The dress is thanks to my friends over at Motel again. This one has a slight body con fit and a lace detailed back. The perfect piece for layering many times in many different ways. Wore it in this subdued manner for a luncheon I went to last Sunday afternoon. I felt the simple gray-blue touches, with the scarf and clutch, did it justice in the color department but still kept things classic.

Lately on my mind I've had: Megan Fox, Baked Lays potato chips, leather jackets and Arrowhead bottled water. (Does Miami carry Arrowhead bottled water?? And where??) I guess you could say those are my current obsessions.....

What Spiderwebs One Weaves

Little photo shoot to showcase the necklace I turned into a spiderweb-like adornment. Overly excited with my new shoes. The minute I saw them I knew I had to have them. I sorta have a thing for zippers and anything with a slight (or major platform.) Who can go wrong with adding a little olive green / gray into their wardrobe?

We Will Become Silhouettes

As some of you may already know, via Twitter, I am having piles of fun with my new iPod Touch. So far I've dabbled a little with TwitterFon, Tap Tap Revenge2, Google Earth and Facebook apps. Any other good ones I should be looking into? Thanks to Weardrobe and Urban Outfitters for my burn out top by Dirty Violet. Last night I watched Ratatouille for the second time this week. My next adventure? Trying to tackle the recipe that is Ratatouille. I've also gotten really caught up in Tumblr lately. This weekend I have high hopes of going to a water park and/or seeing either Pixar's Up or Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince; extremely (e x t r e m e l y) excited for the latter.

Out of the Ordinary

I've been told more often than not; by different people, in different places, and during different stages in my life... that I have a "twin" somewhere - out there... whoever she is... maybe someday I'll meet her.... =)

What are some of the oddest things that people have said to you? Hope you're having a Sunny, Shiny Sunday!

I'd rather be lucky...

After watching Match Point last week, directed by Woody Allen, and with none other than Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the lead role (as well as Scarlett Johansson) I felt an inclination to hear her singing voice. I found this remake of "Summertime" on iTunes and instantly fell in love with it.

Who else has seen Match Point? Thoughts? Reviews? I was left in both shock and amazement by the end of it all. Jon Rhys aces it again! From beginning to end, everything tied in together so nicely; the script, the storyline, the acting. The only word to leave my lips once the film was over......? Genius.
