Clouds in the Sky

Went to the Arboretum over the weekend to take photos of Flowers before a Holiday party. My Thanksgiving weekend consisted of family gatherings, parties, barbecues and picnics at the Park and yes, eating and eating and eating. I also made Cranberry dressing for the very first time, it seemed to be a hit and now a new tradition. Hope yours was great as well!!

Vintage coat. Barneys New York dress and handbag. Payless tights. Vintage suede Lanvin pumps.

Now onto the big blogger secret I've been hanging onto for some time now, the one I keep teasing and tweeting about...
I'm going to New York next week.

I was cordially invited to a red carpet event. I'm so excited as this will be my very first time to the City. I'll be there for roughly 2 days, and would really love to pack in good eating, sightseeing, picture-taking, shopping and perhaps even some blogger meets ups!? Recommend away!!! I'll be staying Midtown Manhattan. I really want to see as much as possible!!!

Coach Holiday

Gap denim jacket. Vintage plaid top & boots. Forever 21 leggings. Coach Sabrina satchel.

Coach has teamed up with Fashion Chalet this holiday for a handbag giveaway. Will you be the winner of the Amanda drawstring satin bag?* THE CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED!!!! Thank you to all who entered!! A winner will be chosen at random and debuted by video next week. Good luck!!!
*open to US and Canadian residents

When I look at Coach and their latest collection of holiday handbags I sense a pretty tough girl look. Meaning: relaxed, loose fitting clothing and funky footwear, all paired to the tune of vintage-inspired and feminine pieces. So many girls are now wearing this look so well, all they need is the Coach Amanda drawstring satin bag to complete and perfect it. Some trendsetters to look to for ideas and inspiration are: Erin Wasson, Rachel Bilson, Alexa Chung, Miroslava Duma, Snejana Onopka, Behati Prinsloo, Zippora Seven, Freja Beha, Atlanta de Cadenet Taylor, Abbey Lee Kershaw and Christine Centenera; to name a few. Ripped jeans, eye-catching nail polish, studded boots, and a piping hot cup of coffee should seal the accessory deal!

I love my Sabrina! xoxo

Vintage and Lace

Last night I was going through my collection of fortunes (saved from fortune cookies past) and reading them all over again. I tend to save the ones that make the most sense to my life and that are optimistic. Some of the best ones have been:

  • It is up to you to find your path and this will lead to your true Destiny.
  • Happiness is in your hands, if you let it.
  • Strong, Brave and Loyal, that is Virgo; that is You. (I am a Virgo!!)
  • Laugh and you shall find.
  • Beauty is not in the face it is the light in the heart.
  • Your Golden opportunity is coming shortly.
  • Keep your face to the sun and you will never see the shadows.

What are your favorite sayings, fortunes and quotes? I'd love for you to share them with me.

Tomorrow Is Yesterday

I feel so flattered to be a part of Modcloth's Blogger of the Moment Feature. When they sent me this namesake dress I instantly thought of Balmain and how much I needed to pair it with my beloved Sam Edelman Zoe boots. A multitude of rings completeed the look. I can't get over how many cute things Modcloth.com carries. In fact, I even put together a little wish list of my personal favorites that you can take a glance at.

Urban Legend

I couldn't wait to wear (and break in) my new leather motorcycle jacket. It has the perfect wrinkled wet look. I've spent months scouring and hunting for just the right one. The moment I saw it- visions of Natasha Poly, Alexander Wang and Taylor Momsen sprang to mind. My favorite part was pairing it with my Topshop denim shirt that both Alexa Chung and Dree Hemingway have worn before; both girls showing how denim can be worn in so many comfortable but still cool ways, this is why I love denim and call it a staple piece of my vast wardrobe. Riding boots, a Wang braid, patterned tights and the Coach Sabrina satchel completed my look.

Ps. Does anyone have a recipe for Truffled fries!?!?! <3

Savoir-Faire

It seems that all of my titles for November's posts have started with an "S" haha. I promise it's not on purpose. Anyway, I woke up today to a boring, bleak, gloomy Tuesday. The fix? A large vat of mocha-coffee, iTunes on shuffle and putting my best Collage making hat on. Hope you like. ;)

Who else watched Gossip Girl last night? Thoughts?

For this Muse Board, I found that my inspirations derived from everything girly, tough, decadent, and romantic -with a soft touch. If I were a fraction; I'd be divided into those 4 parts; equally. 4 very respectable genres. Daria Werbowy in a long, black, straight dress took over the collage- dead-center. Addams family influenced perhaps? Gotta love that. Sipping coffee, a daily ritual and necessity. Soft tulle; as in pretty ballerinas and iconic Carrie Bradshaw. I-went-to-sleep-with-wet-hair-and-just-woke-up-with-romantically-wavy-hair hair. Baby pink? Let's bring it back!! Atlanta de Cadenet, yeah... she's on every blog and almost as cute as Rachel Bilson, just with a harder edge. Dree Hemingway. Hello?! Epic. Bustiers. Sexy lingerie, think 1940's. More messy hair- thank you, Alexander Wang and Miuccia Prada- I love you! Red nails? Always. Stars, space, the galaxy; basically anything intergalactic-al on a t-shirt? HECK YES! Zara, do you ship to NC? Cherry blossom trees. New York City at Twilight. Blueberry scones. Red velvet curtains. Paris in the Spring. Bunnies and Acorns. Willa Holland. "Too Cool for School." All of it together? Priceless....
