Right Where They Left You

Anja Rubik editorial. Insanity of inspiration!!

Chanel took things to a whole new level, Nun chic? The clogs were something I couldn't quite put my mind around, at first, but after seeing them again they kind of have this innocent/bad girl nuance to them. Plus I like that the whole ensemble reminds me of a movie I used to watch with my Grandmother in my childhood, The Trouble With Angels.

Domenico Dolce was quoted in saying, "The idea of mixing varying florals in contrasting colors adds a modern approach to a classic staple." I quite agree!! Ps. I'm still craving these Dolce and Gabbana suede wedges.

Florals, neutrals, skates, floaty chiffon, blanket shaped dresses, red lipstick, pretty ballerina up 'dos.

City It Shines

A rainy Saturday afternoon led me to pad barefoot in the rug towards my archived collection of Fashion magazines. Missing the cool, crisp air that December often brings with it, my fingertips landed on an issue of Elle ― appropriately a December (2008) issue. Once I began flipping through the ostentatious volume, my attention was instantly captured by this very editorial.

Decadent dressing, spiderweb netting, vibrant red lipstick, metal clasp clutches, jewel encrusted cocktail frocks, freshly polished fingernails, shiny, long locks, over-the-top-yet-equally-extraordinary baubles; all leading to an air of mystery; a scene set up to allow a small peek into this "anonymous" woman's extravagant and lavish lifestyle.

Although it might be Monday, why not settle back into that oversize chair, to daydream . . . just a little more?

From Dusk 'Til Dawn

Anja Rubik in Allure magazine December 2006. Photographed by Patrick DeMarchelier.

I wanted to share this particular editorial with everyone because it encompasses fluidity, elegance and femininity. I like the champagne, diamonds and bubbles attitude Anja has going on while she sprawls across the room in stilettos and gauzy dresses. It also reminds me to enjoy life, every happy moment is a memory that lasts a lifetime.......

Michael Jackson, Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough is one of my all-time favorite songs of yours, along with Thriller. RIP. You are my Angel in the airwaves, now and forever......

Cameron, of Stardust and Sequins contacted me to contribute my Michael Jackson playlist of favorites. You can see it here.
