Not unlike Carrie Bradshaw, I'm a self-proclaimed Shoe gal. What is it about shoes that makes me so happy? Maybe it's the possibility of the unknown adventure each pair may hold? Or maybe, plain and simple: I find them pretty. As much as I love (and own) a wide variety of high heel stilettos and chunky platform wedges ... a girl likes to have her comfortable sneakers and sturdy ankle boots too. The better to run last minute errands around town in.

It's a funny thing how style preferences change and evolve with each season. Last year, all I wanted was high heels and platforms. Now, I'm all about flats or chunky, low heels. Loafers are making quite the rotation in my wardrobe as well. I've quickly amassed a variety of styles. These are my current discovery. Dalmatian print is back and with a vengeance. Storming the Dolce and Gabbana catwalk to cloaking any handbags and flats in its path. I'm all for it.

To say I used to loyally watch It's On with Alexa Chung is stating things mildly so. In fact, I would curl up on the couch with my puppy and an overflowing mug of coffee to tune in with. Ever since the day Alexa Chung showed up to host her show in these Marni Platforms, I literally couldn't stop thinking about them. Now, that I finally have them, words cannot express how fast my heart was thumping when I first opened the box. I call them "baby doll shoes" for their sweet round shape and soft suede lining. Perfect for Christmas! Yes?

It's all about the Shoes for today's post. How do you like my new babies? And how about my new chunky rings? Pastels in the purple and blue families always make me smile, so do their given names: Barbie and Aphrodite. I'm definitely packing these rings for New York Fashion Week.. I'm excited to see some of you in person there too! :)

Since yesterday was my day off, I dressed in neutral blues and kept things casual in skinny jeans and alpargatas. I ran a few errands and then stopped by my local Borders to check out the sales, unfortunately all the good stuff was already gone. It makes me sad to see Borders go out of business. That was always my favorite bookstore, aside from Waldenbooks.

Lately, I've been reading a lot of mysteries and semi-horror books. Just finished The Relic. I had never read it before and thoroughly enjoyed every twist and turn and dark shadow lurking behind every corner. I've also taken to watching Mysteries on TV. See: Monk, X-Files and Alfred Hitchcock.
