French Dressing

With all of the amazing designers out there, from Yves Saint Laurent to Karl Lagerfeld, why is it that a woman feels most sexy in men's clothing? From boyfriend jeans to menswear trousers and jackets, even the occasional pair of sweatpants. I find that I feel most confident in something oversize and comfortable. The French nailed it when they said, through what they wear, that French Dressing is simply nothing more than subtle elegance paralleling comfort. That's not to say I don't admire a glorious gown or a great towering pair of heels, I do. I just like to wear something a little different, when I'm at home; lounging the day away...

Hopefully, this cohesive collage I made below, will help introduce you to some more of my favorite things at this moment..... Swirling clouds in the sky, beautiful Cherry Blossom trees, Alexander McQueen and his skeletal decorated ankle booties (these bad boys are headed my way soon) WhoWhatWearDaily- the book, Isabel Marant Spring into Summer sky blue mini frocks, Ali Stephens in Numero editorial for October 2009: see the collage/desktop I made here. Anja Rubik and Lace; harmonious. 80's rock music and lately Elton John's Bennie and the Jets has been on repeat. Covering up for Fall, in: black, black, and more black; lots of layers, cannot wait. And, pondering what to be this Halloween.....

A personal Thank You. :)

Juicebox

To be perfectly honest, I cringe at the idea of denim on denim, but decided to rethink the idea today. I was heavily influenced by miss Alexa Chung and Lissa to try out new denim ideas. If you do decide to take on the challenge, I've found that the best way to begin is by mixing totally different washes, fits and materials of denim. If you decide to go dark and heavy with one piece, let the other one breathe by way of airy fabrics and slimmer cuts. I ended up wearing this out to lunch today. It was barbecue heaven, or at least that's what Kendall said when her plate of garlic butter bread, 4-piece honey barbecue grilled chicken and corn on the cob arrived. I got the sweetend iced tea, biscuits with barbecue gravy (was so good, I am dying for a recipe!!) and 2-piece sticky finger ribs with the quarter serving of honey barbecue chicken (not grilled) and a light Texan Salad (corn, iceberg lettuce, sweet baked beans, topped off with bacon bits & cheddar cheese)

Thanks for all of the lovely feedback lately, guys. I really do read it all, I am trying my best to keep up with replying. It's getting a little harder, but I just wanted to let you all know that I am paying attention to your detailed and well thought out comments and compliments. THANK YOU :)

Heartbreak Hotel

Once again donning my Motel best. I feel like this dress, due to the intricate detail and burst of color, is actually becoming quite the versatile piece to my Summer '09 style. The perfectly placed Nautical stripes and delicate, large bows also make me smile. The music playing was influenced by the movie I watched last night, Beverly Hills Chihuahua. Drew Barrymore gives the "just right" cute voice her Chihuahua silver screen character, Chloe, needs. A kid film? Yes. Silly? Yes, yet adorable, too.
