Plaid and Bell Bottom Jeans. The moment these jeans arrived by mail I couldn't imagine pairing them with anything else other than plaid (in a vibrant red nonetheless) and staggering platforms. The bright yellow bag adds just enough pop without taking away from the pièce de résistance, these comfortable bell bottom jeans. It's actually fun deviating from my skinny jeans path for a bit. Tell me, do you like my treading on new denim territory?

Denim Girl

Skinny jeans, Bell Bottoms, Denim, Jeans, Fashion, Outfit

In case you've just stumbled across my blog, the looks in the collage above can be found in: Sixties Pinstripes, A Little Bit Country, A Little Bit Rock 'n Roll and Oui Paris! I have had a thing for denim as long as I can remember. At age 4 I threw a tantrum in the middle of Bloomingdales over a designer denim jacket I just had to have. I didn't get it. My tantrum did not warrant the gift. When I was 7 I made my own denim purse. It was acid wash. The girls in my class wanted it. One day it disappeared. You can only imagine how much I cried. A few days later I found it, in another girl's cubby. She apologized with cookies and all was well again. Since then I've had an obsession with collecting jeans. My favorites? Skinny and semi flares.

How has your week been so far? I hope it's been great. I finally sat down and watched Despicable Me last night. Can I just say it's my new (maybe forever) favorite movie? Pharrell Williams set the tone through the soundtrack and Steve Carell warmed my heart. I am just like the littlest girl, Agnes. Collecting anything with a Unicorn on it!

As for my outfit today, I broke one of my own rules: denim on denim. I never do it. Yet seeing the varying washes and styles it seemed approachable. I love these train conductor pants. The cut is just right for my long legs and adds a sixties touch, which I of course adore.

I Step in My Blue Jeans

{Forever 21 fur vest + Mickey Mouse sweater, American Eagle jeggings, Gold + Citrus bracelet, Wanted boots}

I feel most comfortable in jeans. College was when I really started collecting them. Sevens, Frankie B's, Citizens of Humanity, Imitation of Christ, Miss Sixty, Blue Cult, Cheap Monday, Hudson, James Jeans, True Religion, Superfine and Juicy Couture... to name a few. I couldn't walk into a store without zipping my way towards them first. Until one day I realized that I had way too many and not enough were getting the love they deserved. So I paired my collection down, donated some and now primarily stick to skinny jeans. They're the easiest to dress up or down.

What's your favorite pair of jeans?

Vintage Bouquet

I had the most delicious pineapple mint tea today... must find the recipe!!!

The amount of stretch in these jeans is unbelievable. They are so lightweight and not starchy in any way whatsoever. I love how they melt into every flattering curve.

I was asked if my blouse was vintage. I think that's what first attracted me to the piece in the first place. It's actually Heritage 1981 by Forever 21. One of my favorite sections in the store...

I never really realize how long my hair actually is, until I see it in pictures. I'm thinking of cutting it again. I want it to be a bit "piecier" as well as a few inches shorter.

Clock Town Tower

I had the weirdest dream last night. Olivia Palermo and I were running from deadly Vampires in an abandoned mall. I was tucked away into a cupboard while she hid behind boxes. The sinister leader of the coven tried to swipe at me, and even though I know it was just a nightmare, I can still feel the cold of his grasp on my arm.

Finishing New Moon last night might have had something to do with that?

I can't wait to crawl into bed later tonight so I can start reading Eclipse..

Denim Classic, Automatic Watch giveaway

Spring forward with a new Orient watch! When a Rep contacted me a few weeks ago to blog about Orient Star Watches and offer a giveaway, I jumped at the chance. I find nothing sexier than an oversized men's watch on a woman's wrist. A timeless trend. Mine is vintage but yours can be Orient.

To enter: You must be a US Resident - simply comment and include your email address.
DEADLINE: 2 weeks to enter, last day March 6th. Winner will be announced shortly after.

I found this lace and pearl necklace at Forever 21 last December. It made me think of Kaiser, Karl Lagerfeld and the decadence that is Chanel.

Chocolate Shoppe

Last weekend we all went downtown to try this new ice cream parlour. It was 40ºF outside but inside the Shoppe was toasty and cozy. I highly recommend banana as a topping to any chocolate ice cream sundae, cone or scoop.
