I was excited to attend this year's Bloglovin' awards since the previous year had me tied up in traveling for blog projects. It turned out to be quite the turn out. This year, The Edison Ballroom was filled wall to wall with Fashion bloggers and photographers alike. It's always fun to share stories over champagne with the faces behind the blogs you read (and who read yours too!) I met up with old friends and made some new ones along the way. It was also fun to see Olivia Palmero again. (Watch my video of her talking here.) I'm already looking forward to the next Bloglovin' Awards ceremony! More outfit photos to come...

Monster Java

Everybody loves Coffee, right? I know there are probably a handful of people on the Planet who don't. On the rare occasion that I've met one, I still find it hard to believe. I used to sneak coffee upstairs as a kid. I was around 8 years old. My Mom saw me one day and invited me to the kitchen table. It wasn't actually forbidden in my household, so the sneaking around was for nothing.

While in New York for Fashion Week, I was able to sample a new kind of caffeinated drink. Monster energy drinks has unleashed a whole new slew of liquid. Think caffeinated coffee with some Protein. It's the perfect pick me up during the chaos that is known as New York Fashion Week. Ice cold to the throat and delicious to the last drop. While I downed "Mean Bean" a savory vanilla flavored coffee, my assistant polished off "Loca Moca" a decadent chocolate flavored drink.

My only dilemma? I can't seem to track down Monster Java back home. I really need some "Mean Bean" vanilla in my daily routine. Where can I find it in Raleigh??

In the Spring, Alcalay was all about bold prints and geometric shapes with splashes of strong color blocking. For Autumn, Alcalay sprinkled in periwinkle, shimmering velvets, and deep cranberry. Structured coats and red lips finish the look. Every piece elegant, luxurious and feminine. A classic collection I can't wait to sample for myself.

I'm really excited about the S/S 2012 Christine Alcalay Dress I was gifted after the Show. I can't wait to wear it (and share it) with you on the blog ...soon. I'm just waiting for things to warm up a bit more before I dare to bare my legs.. ;)

I'm aways happy to be a part of Fashion Week, attending the shows and studying the latest trends. A running trend I happened to pick up on during New York Fashion Week this February was the melding of Seasons. Fall staples: furs, capes and trousers juxtaposed with Summer ready sequins, bright blouses and geometric prints. I think Fall 2012 will be a very exciting season to dress up for. A quasi marriage between Fall and Summer. I don't know if I can wait!

Meeting Miroslava Duma at The Plaza Hotel, NY

My assistant was just asking me to take her picture outside of the Hotel, when a group of 3 über fashionistas emerged from its massive doors. One clad in destroyed denim caught my eye. Then, Miroslava Duma popped out behind her. My mouth literally formed into the shape of an "oh" when I spotted her. Having followed the Russian beauty's street style for years now, my heart kind of stopped. I humbly approached her and politely asked for a photograph. Miroslava kindly obliged. I ogled her Chanel backpack and Lacoste jacket, while she smiled and placed her arm around me for the photo. She's as sweet in person as she is stylish!

As I made my way into the Alice + Olivia presentation, I was met with shimmering sequins, parisian berets, tea cakes and bold prints. I can't help feeling extremely excited about these rich fashions for Fall. Stacey Bendet knows how to tell a Fashionable story: Mixing textures with ease. Pairing elaborate prints with party dresses. Color blocking with furs. Splashes of midnight blues, emerald greens and ravishing ruby reds. I'm applauding the sophisticated styling.

New York Fashion Week " February 2012 "

This will be my first New York Fashion Week "Season" without Alex. :( He is in Miami at the moment with his parents. His mother is re-cooperating nicely though. :) This time, I'll be accompanied by my assistant. I look forward to sharing plenty of photos and coverage once I'm back. I'll be attending the shows, the Bloglovin' Awards, and a couple of after-parties. I always get excited whenever Fashion Week is near. It gives me a giddy feeling inside, not unlike Christmas. I hope to see (and meet) some of you there!! ;)
