Andy Warhol had his muses too...

Subconscious, but also conscious, Inspiration.

Since I have lately taken to sharing my outfits with you more frequently, I only found it fitting to also share some of the inspiration behind my thinking when it comes to picking these certain ensembles. Welcome to my world, behind the scenes, so to speak.

• The coffee table book, Influence, penned by Mark Kate and Ashley Olsen, is a widespread collection of interviews featuring iconic legends in the Fashion realm. These are some noteworthy Q and A sessions with the likes of Mary Kate and Ashley's own personal private muses.

• A teeny, tiny, stuffed, black French poodle. A past Holiday present I have yet been able to part with. She seems so very French to me and her given name is Orange Marmalade.

• The beautiful red sequined hair clip in the shape of a bow, so fitting for the little part of Dorothy in us all. "There is no place like home, there is no place like home, there is no place like.."

Sex and The City, the movie. Yes, I felt the series was better on television, only because it delved deeper into the individual characters' lives, but finally getting to see Big and Carrie and their marvelous romance on the big screen? Kind of a blockbuster moment too. Not to mention the shoes, shoes, shoes and more shoes. Was I the only one enamored by Carrie Bradshaw's wardrobe yet again!? I think not!

Heart shaped sunglasses in a light flirty pink? Check. Because the girly girl in me said so. Thank you, Suzanne. ;)

Nylon magazine. It's as if all of my favorite editorial and photo blogs got married and had this beautiful little baby! Doesn't hurt that many of my favorites have graced their hallowed halls and donned their best to be captured for the cover; Nicole Richie, Sienna Miller, Leighton Meester, 90210's entire female cast, Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen, and Zooey Deschanel, just to name a few.

The Tudors. Season 1; because that's all I've seen so far (one episode left to go before I can move onto Season 2) and because of Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Henry Cavill.. that's all!

A Year in Fashion by Pascal Morche, which I had to purchase when I heard my good friend Lissa was getting it. Hello, a book so thick you can't carry it with only one arm, and totally loaded with fashion? And Audrey Hepburn is on the cover? YES, YES, YES!!!!

• My trusty Composition notebook, filled with doodles, recipes, notes, ideas, quotes, song lyrics, wish lists and anything else worth jotting down. I carry "her" (yes, her) with me everywhere. I call her Jules.

• The most beautiful color in the world to me, is purple. So it is only natural to state how much I adore my decadent lilac ring from Ice.com.

• The tiny periwinkle twinkle between Influence and my Composition notebook belongs to a ring my Mother surprised me with some odd three years ago. It was exactly the bauble I needed to finish off my look for my Cousin's wedding. I treasure it for the many memories that come with it, every time I wear it.

Framed Audrey Hepburn photograph. Taken from an Audrey Hepburn picture fan book, I had to preserve her in frame. This is my favorite still from Breakfast at Tiffanys. The hairstyle, Givenchy dress, pearls, sunglasses, croissant, gloves, Tiffanys!

The Tide is High, let's Walk the Line

My favorite way to mix up my clothing choices is by going the vintage route. These shorts belonged to my Mom when she was in her thirties, vintage Liz Claiborne. She rocked them then, and I will continue to rock them now. I love the satiny softness of the material as well as the ultra practical pockets.

Also, if you are ever looking for an image hosting site, no more bandwidth exceeding, and all fast and free? You can check out ImageSheep.com for reliable service.

And, many thanks to Elle.es for the blog Feature; muchisimas gracias!!!!

I've Got Your Number

Wore this cute little number out for lunch yesterday at Miami eatery, Tiramesu. If you like Italian cuisine, then this is the place to be; located on Lincoln Rd. I chose the jumper two sizes up, on purpose; for the baggier, slouchier, fit. I am enamored with my graffiti Fashion Chalet tote which you can find at Personalized Graffiti Bag from Bags of Love London. Bags of Love offer many wonderful ideas for gifts, the personalization is a bonus.

Tango in Paris

Houstina over at Cowgirl Heaven send over the loveliest ruffled vest. A nice way to shift, with ease, from summer into fall. It's as soft as it is stylish. Ever since I saw Shall We Dance (first the Japanese version, and then the US one) I fell in love with both the story; romantic and comical, and the music. Right now you're listening to the song Jennifer Lopez and Richard Gere dance to in the American version. This post is also the debut of my Carrie Bradshaw heels. Can you believe that I bought these many moons ago and haven't, until recently, remembered to wear them? No, they aren't Dior, but yes, they are just as lovely to wear and look at. Oh and I was very excited today when I found out that I am on StyleSite here is the screen cap.

Kimchi Blue

I fell in love with this floral print romper from Urban Outfitters when I first spotted Lauren Conrad sporting it. The vibrancy of the colors and floral detailing is just amazing. I couldn't stop staring at it. I knew I had to have it for prancing around in during these last few weeks of Summer. I paired it with a cardigan once belonging to my late Great Grandmother, the gold button detailing is my favorite.

The Tudors

ASH WEDGES (similar style here)

Ever since I saw this editorial in Teen Vogue magazine, I've wanted to try to recreate the look. And of course, own those Ash wedges; which I am quickly finding to be a permanent fixture to my summer wardrobe. Thanks to a lovely representative over at Sophistix who sent these shorts my way, among a few other fabulous pieces. The moment I saw them I was instantly reminded of the era of pantaloons and the type of dressing showcased on Showtime's television series hit, The Tudors. Jonathan Rhys Meyers would be proud. ;)

Hey, Mickey!

Been on a Brazilian music and OC DVD box set fix lately. I miss Marissa, Summer, Seth, Ryan, Luke, Sandy, Kirsten (and yes, Oliver too!) Above all, I miss craving a cream cheese bagel whenever Sandy Cohen reaches for one on the show, that and dry cereal á la Ryan Attwood.
The OC, Season 1, "The Secret"

(Discussing Danny)

Sandy: Whoa, that kid is not funny.
Seth: Thank you. I know.
Sandy: He makes Ryan look funny
Seth: He makes Marissa look funny.
Sandy: Gentiles. I love your mother more than words, but not funny. Get yourself some funnier friends.

Yellow Brick Road

After watching a creepy countdown on young girls being kidnapped and vanishing into thin air on E! last night, I came across this really great article. Safety Tips for Women (and men, too!) Be safe out there, folks! On a more cheerful note, who else has a celeb-crush on Freckles... aka.. Evangeline Lilly from Lost? She's peeking out of my bag from the cover of one of my favorite Elle magazine issues (May 2006). I need to buy Lost Season 4...... haven't seen it yet. I need to have it.

Pink Minx

Sweety watching me from behind the glass..

Detail shot

Went to a friend's Birthday party last night in my new Forever 21 dress. I am in love, lust, fascination over this hot pink, zipper dream filled dress. Two-parts 80's, One-part Kelly Kapowski, and One-Part Hawaiian Princess. To give it an even more nitty-gritty 80's attitude I threw on my favorite vintage black studded messenger bag and slipped into some seriously Matrix bondage heels.. On another note, I just learned today (from my very informative twitter followers, thank you!) that caffeine is actually good for curing a terrible headache, yet another Pro to add to my list of why I love (and need) coffee on a daily basis...

You're listening to: The Cardigans - Erase/Rewind

I actually picked out the dress because of the vibrancy that the hot pink gave off, as well as the mix of both tough and pretty factoring into the fit and overall silhouette. Yes there were plenty of ruffles and frills, but there was something "tough" about it too, and very, very 80's; so of course, I just had to get it.
The dress also didn't scream Forever 21 as much as it screamed every label I ever lusted over: Alexander Wang, Herve Leger, Topshop, and even Helmut Lang. All this under $30? A deal of a deal of a deal! :]

Pineapple Wine

Lately I've been obsessed with all things Island, Hawaiian and relaxing. Taking up golf lessons again. And last night I watched Caddyshack II and the OC before bed, I had forgotten my crazy crush on Oliver Trask (Taylor Handley) and my love for all things cheesy in this song by Tom Jones; a song which I will forever be reminded of Oliver Trask by. Seth Cohen and his wit and wisdom always leave me pondering, which by the way (other than Anna Stern) am I the only one who didn't know The Smurfs were 3 apples high in height? And lastly, you are listening to my favorite Bob Marley song; the man is a legend. I feel like sipping on a pineapple something whenever his music pops on......

This oversize t-shirt dress by Babooshka is a dream, a liquid dream in style and the feather headband doubled as an awesome belt. The jodhpur style leggings are as soft as cashmere and equally amazing in design. I'm also overly excited with my newest addition of studded Sam Edelman shoes; they make me think of MK Olsen; always a plus. Enter Chalet for 10% OFF
