The first time that I saw the Sex and the City series, I was of course enthralled. The image of Carrie Bradshaw's tutu in the opening sequence may have been controversial for some but definitely iconic to me. It defined fashion as fun. That's how I like to look at dressing up, a time to become a different character on a whim. To this day (and for many years to come, I'm sure) Sex and The City will continue to inspire women...and her love of shoes. Now tell me, what do you think of my new balletic skirt?

P.S. I'm on Facebook now.

Met up with my friend Caroline again. She loaned me a ton of Fashion books and I gave her an enormous bag of clothes. I also shot her next outfit blog post. Can't wait to see what she posts..

It's Friday! Let's celebrate.. Anna Dello Russo Style. (In Balmain!?) ;)

I know Summer is officially here when I get to trade in my usual "hang around the house" sweatpants and slippers for shorts and flip flops. There's something about the sunshine that makes me smile. Seeing the blue skies... just feels right. Summer means leg-baring shorts and skirts and really cute sandals. Happy Friday, darlings! :)

James Perse turtleneck, Urban Outfitters blazer, Vintage skirt + leopard print belt, Ralph Lauren watch, Pierre Hardy x Gap wedges, Kenneth Cole clutch

Recently inspired by an image of Chloe Sevigny in a magazine, I pulled this look together. I admired the way Chloe wore all black with the only color emanating from a floral print, mini skirt. I threw in my own personal touch by mixing in the leopard print belt and slouchy, red clutch.

Moon Safari

Before leaving for New York, I took advantage of the leg baring weather.

{Christian Dior vintage sweater, Forever 21 necklace, Aryn K skirt, Balenciaga sandals}

A few little birds told me to keep smiling in my photographs. I swear I smile and laugh in real life. I just forget to do it on camera, sometimes... ;)

Anyway, what movies make you laugh? Who are your favorite actors? My picks would have to be: Tom Hanks and Michael J. Fox, especially in the eighties. I really want to rent some comedies, suggest away!!!

(More to come on New York and Coach, soon*)

Hey, Mickey!

Been on a Brazilian music and OC DVD box set fix lately. I miss Marissa, Summer, Seth, Ryan, Luke, Sandy, Kirsten (and yes, Oliver too!) Above all, I miss craving a cream cheese bagel whenever Sandy Cohen reaches for one on the show, that and dry cereal á la Ryan Attwood.
The OC, Season 1, "The Secret"

(Discussing Danny)

Sandy: Whoa, that kid is not funny.
Seth: Thank you. I know.
Sandy: He makes Ryan look funny
Seth: He makes Marissa look funny.
Sandy: Gentiles. I love your mother more than words, but not funny. Get yourself some funnier friends.

Southern Belle

Goodbye July and Hello August! The sparkly red bow in my hair was the firecracker to my July. You can find it along with other equally creative designs by Lisa Kathryn here (http://www.lisakathryn.com).

I was so excited to debut this Vintage find of a skirt, I altered the hem (made it shorter and then gave it a higher waist fit) I gathered the extra fabric in back to make a sort of bouffant poof. Sometimes making something old become new again is more fun than dropping a few hundred bones on the latest trend. Deciding to pair the finished look with my " Givenchy " heels (could almost be twins in design) just seemed right.

You are listening to Take My Breathe Away by Hollywood, Mon Amour. I love this song, originally by Berlin, and every other cover or remix out there. It's such a romantic "in love" with someone song.

L'ecole girl

Visions of school girl uniform skirts, sweet satin bows, and precariously tall wedges help to move me into an autumnal mode. Apples, bluebirds and the casual cool evening breeze top off my train of thought. When it comes to short skirts, why not take the Parisian route? Monochromatic schemes sit alright with me. So, if you're beginning to feel overwhelmed by homework overtaking your desk and textbooks piled high, then the next time you crack open a book, try whistling while you work. ;)
