My Mom was actually the one who taught me the art of scarves. She always said it's the best accessory a girl can have. And she was right. Take any ... what could be plain outfit ... say jeans and a tank top with flip flops- thrown on a scarf and, voila! One of my modern day fashion icons- Nicole Richie is a believer of this philosophy it seems. As she is always spotted in a scarf of some sort. She has multitudes of colorful veils. Now, if only I could raid her stash! ;)

Back from a fun and fulfilling Memorial Day Weekend. I definitely ate more than I should have, laughed a lot and met a bunch of new people who have quickly became close friends. I only wish it wasn't already over... How was your long weekend?

This outfit was taken a few weeks ago, before the eighties weather decided to settle. Who doesn't want to be bundled up in shearling in the middle of the woods? Cozy, comfort anyone? These riding pants act like leggings but work like leg warmers. A perfect Winter/Fall staple. I'm so glad I got them when I did. How do you like my neon and black mix? Nothing new, it's something I'm always partial to. A bit of neon in your look can instantly wake up your wardrobe and your attitude. ;)

Mixing neon into my look again. This time with a tartan-like plaid print jacket. Part sweater, part coat? All comfort. I must admit that I have a mighty big crush on these american apparel riding pants. I do seem to wear them often enough don't I? That is until the scorching sunny, summer weather finally sets in. Then, it'll be all about shorts and dresses for me. What do you think about today's outfit of the day?

I have a feeling these riding pants have been having a stand-off with my jeans at night, thus winning every time I choose to don them. With the orange leaves beginning to fall off the trees and a swirl of wind tangling through my hair, I was inspired to take out the Varsity jacket again. Lately, I've become fascinated with pieces that have a bit of leather to them. It adds a nice, subtle panache to an everyday look. The dalmatian print slippers, the softest loafers on the block, were the finishing touch.

One of my favorite things about Fall is dressing for comfort. Layering pieces. Stocking up on scarves, gloves and tights. The time of year when flats are found most appropriate. I have been dreaming about riding pants for the last month. So I was very excited to find these on my doorstep last week. Versatile and completely comfortable! My other obsession du jour? Penny loafers. Who knew that when I used to wear these with my uniform in Private School, I'd ever want to wear them again "just because"? Now, instead of thinking about homework or the hottie in homeroom, I'm thinking about all of the outfits I can pair them with. Did I mention they're patent? I'm in love!!

I have an addiction to high school based movies and television series.. maybe it's the romance, or the funny escapades that ensue? Or maybe it's the friendships? One thing holds true, my obsession with Varsity jackets. The girls always wore their boyfriend's jackets as a symbol to say they were taken. I missed my jacket and when I recently happened upon this pretty little thing in ASOS, I pounced. Do you like it?
