Fashion blogging may look like a lot of fun, and it is. However, it also takes a lot of perseverance and inspiration. Which is why it's always rewarding to receive feedback and press about my blog. I feel honored to be among this great group of bloggers in ELLE Girl Japan's latest issue. What a welcoming way to begin March! It's always exciting to be among familiar faces I've met in person and have formed new friendships with. You can see more of my Outfit featured here.
How was your Thanksgiving yesterday? For those of you celebrating, hope it went well. I'm still stuffed. Today, I wanted to share a quick update with you on one of my Projects. A few months ago, I was approached by a local Style magazine to contribute my own column. Here I am hunting local boutiques for stylish pieces to wear in my third issue. I can't wait to share the looks I came up with ..soon. The next issue hits stands early 2012.
Here are the previous two issues featuring Fashion Chalet in Triangle Style magazine. If you live in the Triangle, North Carolina area, be sure to pick up a copy at your local supermarket or library for a peek.
As part of my collaboration Project with True Religion Brand Jeans this summer, a series known as Taxi TV ran in select New York City Taxi Cabs during the month of August. Today I get to share that with you. I hope to include more videos on my blog for you guys to watch and am always excited to hear what you think about them, as well as hearing your ideas.
I was given the opportunity to play with a new line of denim from Bebe. My thing about jeans is finding easy comfort and a flattering fit. These have both. They feel painted on but have an unbelievable amount of stretch. They may hug your legs, but you can also breathe. Oh, and have I mentioned how soft they are? A staple year round!
By the way, in case you guys didn't already know, your comments mean the World to me. I just wanted to say THANK YOU! ❤ XO
Hailing all the way from the UK, is a press piece featuring a day in the life behind my work for Fashion Chalet. Noir magazine goes behind the scenes with me in this month's American Issue. It's always flattering to be asked for an interview spot in a Publication. I wanted to share this with you guys today. Happy reading and happy Thursday!
I don't know about you, but when I wake up the first thing I reach for is my iPod Touch... to check out Bloglovin'. I'm extremely addicted to both Street Style and Fashion Editorial blogs. I follow my favorite blogs so I never miss out on their latest updates. Well, now Bloglovin' has made things even easier for us obsessed fashionistas. They've created an app for both the iPhone and iPod Touch. They're also in the works for an iPad app. Are you savvy? You can download the app here.
Raw Talent. With a voice as soft as Gwyneth Paltrow's and chords incorporating Folk from the 70's, how can you lose? It's new age folk music for the modern hippie at heart! I was lucky enough to catch her performance at Bloomingdales last September for Fashion's Night Out. You can preview and purchase her album on iTunes here.
{Shot by French director Aurelien Levitan, These Days was shot on a balmy November day in the streets of the meatpacking district in NYC.}
When I asked her how Fashion plays a role in her life Lana answered, "I love fashion and I love dressing up. I'm always on a hunt for my new favorite dress. My personal style changes all of the time and reflects how I feel at the moment. My music is a blend of vintage tinged alternative pop with elements of Feist, Nouvelle Vague, Astrud Gilberto, Nico, Francoise Hardy, and Billie Holiday. When performing, I to combine retro, boho, vintage and chic. I try to have my look complement the songs we perform."
Lana's favorite designers echo some of my own personal favorites: Balenciaga, Marc Jacobs, Diane von Furstenberg, Rodarte, Martin Margiela and Zara.
Lana’s debut album is the perfect introduction to this enchanting chanteuse - a breezy, disarming and infectiously charming collection of songs that wholly reflects Lana’s passionate and tenacious journey across the world. She left Kiev for New York City in 2003. Produced by Andy Chase (Ivy, Brookville) and Bruce Driscoll (Blondefire) Lana’s album is bursting with airy pop songs, sultry, wistful vocals, a deep appreciation of jazz, rock and alternative, Brazilian musical elements and an organic blend of contemporary and vintage 60s-style pop.
Bloglovin' and Koshka recently invited me to collaborate on a special Holiday project. I was asked to style a shoot modeling my favorite Koshka piece. I chose this jacket for its versatility, color and intriguing design. I'm also partial to the way green has a way of complimenting my hair. {Koshka jacket, Urban Revisions top, Superfine jeans, H&m rosette clutch, Ralph Lauren watch, Chloe wedges}
A huge thanks to Bloglovin’ and Koshka for letting me be a part of this great opportunity!
Google recently launched Boutiques.com and I'm thrilled to have been invited to be a part of it. Their easy to navigate shopping site is addictive and dangerous - I feel like shopping every time I log on. Check out my boutique with all my current favorites here. I try to update every week.
{The studded detailing sold me on both the clutch and belt.} {Navy and black combined with brown leather create a luxe relaxed look.} {These shoes were the frosting to my leather picks.}

The Coach Holiday Launch Party was a great success!! When I was first approached by Coach to be a part of this incredible Campaign I was thrilled. Creative Director Reed Krakoff did a wonderful job photographing us for the campaign. I thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Coach, as they are always so professional. It's no wonder Coach is such a loved brand. Thanks to everyone who came out to celebrate. It was exciting to meet my New York based readers face to face.
{Ok, so I couldn't remember all 8 reindeer on camera, I froze... haha.}
More pictures still to come, from the Coach Party in Soho last Friday...
This weekend our pictures are set to debut in select Coach stores globally....
I can finally reveal why I was in New York this past July. It was really hard keeping this a secret for so long! I was chosen to take part in Coach's Holiday Blogger Campaign. We all had the chance to be styled in sparkly pieces and Coach accessories. There was a remarkable glam squad on hand for hair and makeup. It truly felt like Christmas.
And now I have the chance to finally meet YOU. A stylish fête hosted by Coach will take place in their newly renovated Soho location Nov. 12th from 7-9pm. Can't wait to meet you all in person. You'll also be able to create a custom flipbook and enjoy 25% OFF any purchases you make that evening. Come join us for the Coach Party!
{Just a Sneak Peek of what's to come...}
The official campaign launches on Coach.com November 17th. We will also be featured in select stores across the Country.

When I first began fashion blogging, it evolved into this amazing hobby. I never in a million years would have guessed all the engaging experiences and friendships that I would be blessed with because of this newfound pastime. To receive comments and illustrations from readers is nothing short of flattering.
Today I'd like to share with you some recent artwork that was emailed to me by two very talented artists.
This first set is by Rach from Visual Basic. She managed to capture my silhouette perfectly. Rach's illustrations make me long for my longer hair again. I also spot a certain pose I tend to do too.
My family instantly recognized me when I showed them and then said: "That's our Erika!" I find her style to be precise mixed with a tinge of nineteen twenties cartoons. The detailed clothing is completely spot on. Darling!
This second set by Avi Jacob is almost Monet like in her use of charcoals and smudgy watercolor lines. I sense a Parisian take on them as well. Avi shared them with me first on facebook via her sketchbook. She loves fashion, shoes and accessories as much as I do. You can contact her (here) for a free sketch of yourself, she's always looking for new inspiration. 99 Red Balloons...
Thank you both so much for taking the time out to make these for me. I would love to have each one of these framed. I only wish I could draw. I'll have to live vicariously through your work. ;)
