Standing in the middle of 7th Avenue for these photos, time seemed to stop. I was surrounded by the ambience and sounds only New York City has to offer. One local even stopped to watch and smile. Horns honked and taxis cabs passed by in a yellow blur. A 12-year-old girl asked if I was here for Fashion Week and which shows I was walking.. I blushed and said only as an attendee. Since it was cold (in February) I took advantage of pairing ribbed tights with my maxi skirt. The splash of tangerine in mid-Winter felt fabulous. This was my last day in New York. I also visited the Russian Tea Room across the street.. Video clips of that soon!

When putting this outfit together, I felt a sense of rebellion inside. Here I had a sheer maxi skirt and chunky knit to play with. I wanted to wear them both together. However, I couldn't decide on shoes. I purposely didn't want to wear heels or some other feminine piece of footwear. I opted for the most unexpected piece. And although at first you might hate it, I think it's kind of fun. Not to mention comfortable. Tell me, what you think of the outcome of my outfit experiment? :)

Hello 2012! Today I decided to take this striped maxi skirt out for a spin once more. Remember how I wore it last time? I took advantage of the nice weather today, before tomorrow, when temperatures are supposed to drop down into the thirties and forties.. brr!

I forgot to ask you guys yesterday. What are your New Year's Resolutions? I never really make any (or stick to them for that matter!) I do want to Travel more, though!! Striped Silhouette

I love how Fall is finally here. As my family likes to say, my Birthday is the kick off date. Then comes my brother's birthday, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. Fall is my favorite season. I only wish it lasted longer.

When I first tried on this look in my bedroom, I glanced in the full length mirror and envisioned myself touring the Louvre Museum in Paris. There is something so incredibly vogue about body conscious pieces. Especially when slightly, baggier pieces are mixed in, juxtaposing the overall silhouette. That's my personal rule in fact. If one piece of my look is too short or snug, the other piece will compensate by being a tad longer or loose-fitting on my frame. This can add mystery and swank.

The fictional Morticia Addams was best known for the long, tulip skirts she wore around her home. Always admiring this style, and wanting to recreate a similar silhouette, I finally got that chance. Pairing my striped maxi skirt with a crisp, white button blouse was ideal.

Adapting to the changing of seasons, a little bit of turquoise jewelry married in well. Jewelry, to me, is an extension of one's personality. You can tell a lot about a person just from the accessories they choose to wear. I like pieces I can mix and match all year long. And these turquoise pieces from Ippolita do just that!

Why are Maxi dresses and skirts so fun to wear? I think it's because they're so comfortable and you don't have to completely give up your personal style to wear them. I used to never wear long skirts or dresses without sandals or ballet flats. Now, all I want to do is hike long skirts up high on my waist and pair with chunky platforms and sky high heels. In a way, balancing the scales of comfort maybe? I just got back from lunch at Bahama Breeze. One of my favorite restaurants. The vibe there always puts me in a Disney mood, I love that. We'll I'm off... can't believe tomorrow is already Friday! Time flies when you're busy.... the weekend is calling!

What fun is a breezy day without a frothy maxi skirt blowing in the wind? In its normal context, this vintage skirt meets the floor when worn with flats. I decided to hike it up on my waist for a new look as well as allow visibility of my heeled, nude sandals.

Mother's day was a success! We gathered around the table for a warm meal of baked chicken, steamed vegetables and countless casseroles. It felt just like Thanksgiving day. The evening ended with two strawberry pies drowning in whipped cream and a vanilla pie with banana bits inside. As much as I love clothing, cooking is another passion of mine...
