Los sábados apetece bajar el ritmo. Nuestro cuerpo y nuestra mente ya han trabajado lo suficiente durante la semana y toda la información que hemos ido gestionando estos días atrás necesita ser asentada. Por ello hoy he recopilado algunos looks de las mujeres que más han aparecido este pasado año en las pasarelas, las fiestas y los front row. Necesitamos ojear tranquilas algunas fotos que nos permitan evadirnos.

Ya se oyen trineos, villancicos y, como no, felicitaciones navideñas. La época de la paz, el amor y las cenas copiosas sin descanso es, como cada año, una realidad adelantada a su tiempo. Cuando aún faltan más de dos semanas, Topshop es una de las primeras firmas en felicitarnos la Navidad.
     Kate Bosworth, dirigida por su prometido Michael Polish, canta cual diva de los años 50 para desearnos a todos unas felices fiestas.
     Como puntualización diré que, si os fijáis al final del vídeo, donde apareces los saludos en varios idiomas, lo que Topshop nos desea realmente son 'Felizes Fiestas'...

Kate Bosworth in Moonlight, para Vanessa Bruno

Kate Bosworth se convierte en una mujer donde un extraño entorno le libera de la gravedad entre dulces pasos y juegos. Vanessa Bruno nos presenta de esta forma su video promocional para la campaña de esta próxima primavera-verano.
     Así describe Stephanie Di Giusto, directora del cortometraje, esta mágica historia:
     "Una niña estelar, una niña radiante que se agarra a la luna y llega a una tierra desconocida, en un terreno que no está atado. Un terreno inmaculado. Comprende el final de la realidad y el comienzo de un sueño.
Kate corre hacia adelante, sin mirar atrás incluso aunque su pasado se encuentra con ella en la caricia de la mano de una niña, o en una soleada piscina en California.
     Un futuro por inventar e imaginar compone un cuento de hadas futurista".

Mamá, ya no quiero ser princesa, perfiero ser 'it girl'

¿Qué es una it girl exactamente? El término se acuñó por primera vez en 1927 pero es ahora cuando tiene su máxima vigencia gracias a su inestimable elenco de jóvenes representantes. En la actualidad es algo así como un título nobiliario, la realeza de la sociedad contemporánea. Son mujeres con estilo, muchas veces sin una profesión definida. ¡Pero ni falta que les hace!

     Firmas y diseñadores de moda se las rifan. Todo el mundo las quiere en primera linea en sus desfiles, photocalls o en sus fiestas más exclusivas. En sus incursiones al asfalto son fotografiadas y analizadas de manera meticulosa y el simple tono de su colorete crea tendencia. ¿Y por qué? Porque todo el mundo desea y se inspira en sus outfits.

     Olivia Palermo, mi debilidad; Whitney Port, Alexa Chung, Kate Bosworth o Blake Lively son algunas de las it más relevantes. Darán mucho que hablar en este blog en próximas entradas.

I only buy magazines if I like the cover. Is that weird? Really liking the styling on Kate Bosworth for Nylon.

Which shows from Milan Fashion Week spoke the most to you? Aside from the oft talked about Gucci, Bottega Veneta, Dolce and Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and Jil Sander, I really enjoyed the collection from Moschino Cheap and Chic. The furs, the tights, the brights. Emilio Pucci dazzled again with shimmer embellished dresses and polished pant suits. My only aversion was the combination of knee-length dresses with ankle boots, not the most flattering combination. In my humble opinion, anyway.

Taylor Momsen, of the widely popular series, Gossip girl, manages to capture a casual look while implementing street chic with the help of her strappy red flats and alarmingly bright yellow shoulder strap bag. Adding in an off the shoulder tee is key in the summer heat.

Miranda Kerr, Australian model, has the natural, fresh faced beauty down to a Science. It is her poise and elegance that shine through most in this feminine look. From the curve hugging pencil skirt to her romantic top, this classic look is also fun for a dinner date.

Lauren Conrad, of the infamous MTV reality show, The Hills, seems to enjoy translating casual looks into something with a little more flair and oomph. She looks best when she is in natural, solid statement pieces. Her collection varies from stretchy denim to fitted plaid tops. She toys with both flats and heels and adores large leather handbags.

Kate Bosworth, actress extraordinaire, lives for cotton pieces. She takes pleasure in belted tops worn as dresses, funky flats and worn in leather bags. In cooler weather she opts for thick scarves, wooly coats and fitted skinny leg pants. She knows how to play with the perfect proportions for her small frame.

Sienna Miller, actress/model, may get a lot of flack for her mimicry of Kate Moss, but I believe she does her own thing as well. She is definitely a fan of the Bohemian Street look, but she also has a way of working in her own hippie vibes, with peasant tops and messy Heidi-like braids. I am indeed fascinated by her ever multiplying collection of ankle grazing boots.

Mary Kate Olsen, model/actress/CEO/Trailblazer, although her twin sister also has a chic mind of her own worth praising, it’s Mary Kate whom I most admire. There is a kind of free spirit lurking within her that exudes with every stylistic choice she deigns to don. She doesn’t cave to trends; instead she does her own thing. And I commend her for it. Every piece she steps out in is all Mary Kate and nobody else. She isn’t afraid to try something new (spike adorned heels) or something old (faded denim cut offs). To some, her ideas may seem ridiculous or thought of as far too eclectic, but to many, she is Queen when it comes to her styling preferences.
